This program will include practice tips for common support problems and the services DCT provides that can help avoid them, including:
· How UIFSA differs from UCCJEA – which is appropriate act and why. Jurisdictional issues to be aware of when registering an order for enforcement or modification under UIFSA.
· Whether the end date of child support/emancipation is different when the underlying support order registered in Johnson County is from another state/country.
· In depth review of DCT services and practice tips to ensure enforcement of the support obligation is handled efficiently and effectively, including the important of using mandatory language from local court rules, direct payments to the ex-spouse versus to the Kansas Payment Center, authorization of income withholding, modifications, etc.
